EVENT INFO:
Handmade Market is a curated, community art fair taking place within the Weekend of Art in Hillsborough on Saturday, June 1, 2024, 12-6 PM, alongside Hillsborough's Handmade Parade! This market features parade-related experiences, entertainment, and food/beverage alongside up to 50 craft vendors. Expected attendance at this event is between 4-6k with peak visitation before and after the parade (4-5 PM).
All HAC events are rain or shine, barring severe or dangerous conditions. We will only cancel this event if dangerous weather is forecasted.

VENDOR REQUIREMENTS CONTINUED: (Please read carefully)

Ultimately, vendors are liable for being fully licensed, insured, complying with local health guidelines, and maintaining proper permits to operate within Orange County and the Town of Hillsborough.
ORANGE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT (OCHD) COMPLIANCE:

HAC is required to submit the operating permit of any food vendor participating in this event to OCHD (unless exempt from OCHD regulations).

Please provide a copy of your operating permit to Arisa Sullivan at akusumi@gmail.com upon completing the form below.

If you are a Temporary Food Establishment (TFE) (i.e. a pop-up food vendor not fully licensed, insured, and permitted to operate within Orange County and the Town of Hillsborough), you will need to apply for an exemption with OCHD to participate in this event. In this case, please fill out pages 5-7 of this application and return it to akusumi@gmail.com by Monday, May 13, 2024.

Local regulations require all vendors to notify OCHD of planned dates of operations. Be sure to email Alexandria Rimmer at arimmer@orangecountync.gov to confirm you meet all local regulations to operate in Orange County.

TOWN OF HILLSBOROUGH COMPLIANCE:

Unless you are an annually licensed vendor with the Town of Hillsborough, you will need to complete and submit a $15 Town’s Single-Day Pre-Paid Food & Beverage Tax Application to the Town of Hillsborough.

Vendors must possess their own liability insurance.

Each vendor must have a fire extinguisher onsite at the event.

NO ELECTRIC ACCESS - Vendors are required to have a generator if power is needed. Vendors are required to be self-sustaining in operations. All vendors are encouraged to be self-sustaining in their operations. HAC will NOT be providing generators. Please contact us to discuss further if this is a concern with your setup or require special accommodations.

Setup may begin as early as 9 AM the day of the event. Please be patient & respectful of other vendors, including artists, who may be onsite and moving their equipment in the same windows of time.

Vendors must be ready to sell by 12 PM.

Restrooms, trash bins, and hand-washing facilities will be available nearby.

Please post your menu in multiple locations at your vendor station to ensure visibility and ease of access for visitors. You must also have copies of your permits with you on the day of the event and available upon request for inspection purposes.

This is a non-alcoholic, community event.

Vendors are solely responsible for providing and transporting all equipment and materials necessary to operate as a market food vendor. This includes, but is not limited to, tents, tent weights, weatherproofing, illumination, tables, chairs, etc. Keep in mind this is an evening, winter event and the weather can be unpredictable.

To ensure inclusion in HAC marketing efforts, please email a high-res file of your logo and/or a high-res image of your business to marketing@hillsboroughartscouncil.org at the time of submitting your form.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT:
I hereby agree to abide by all the rules stated in this agreement. If asked to remove any item from my station, I will do so. I understand that I can be asked to leave and will forfeit my vendor fee if I fail to comply with guidelines. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all entities associated with Last Fridays & the Art Walk and the Hillsborough Arts Council from any and all demands, expenses, fees, fines, penalties, suits, proceedings, actions and causes of action of any and every kind and nature arising, or growing out of, or in any way connected with, my participation in the event. I agree to all conditions set forth herein by the Hillsborough Arts Council.
