NEWS!

Kathy Lee, the director of education and outreach for the Eno River Association has been an advocate and supporter of our Hillsborough Handmade Parade. Kathy attended our Leadership Puppetmaking workshop as did Laura Casey, a teacher at Cameron Park Elementary School in Hillsborough. Together they used their new puppetry skills to create Creatures of the Eno with over 60 students in the "I walk The Eno" science and nature camp!  Hopefully many of them will bring their creations and perform in the Handmade Parade.

Kudos to Kathy and Laura for using the Handmade Parade concept to bring together art, science, conservation, and community in a meaningful and fun way.

When Kathy asked us if we'd volunteer to do a workshop at the Festival for the Eno how could we possibly refuse? We're honored to be a part of this community event. In addition,  Paperhand Puppet Intervention will be bringing their awesome giant puppets to parade at the festival July 4th...

So... come to the festival and bring the kids to a 'Handmade Parade' workshop!

The theme of the Hillsborough HandmadeParade is

" The Waters of the Eno and Her Creatures"

With it's headwaters in Orange County, the Eno River
is an important part of our history
and our present day community.

In fact we rely on our beautiful Eno River
for our very sustenance...
The West Fork Eno Reservoir provides
Hillsborough with a 786 million gallon
reservoir for our drinking water.

The Eno River Association has been dedicated to conserving and protecting the nature, culture, and history of the Eno River basin since 1966.
