Call to Artists





Miniatures Exhibition: 

   June 23, 2010 - July 23, 2010  Opening reception Friday, June 25, 6:30-9:30

Artists living or who have studios in Orange, Alamance, Chatham, Durham or Wake counties are eligible. Submit original works of art, any media. There is a 10 piece limit in  the number of works an artist may submit, size not to exceed 6"x6"x6".

Drop off work from 1-4 on Sat. June 19 at 220-B South Churton St.

Applications and labels will be available at the Gallery. at the time of drop off. There is no entry fee.

Gallery takes 30% commission. Gallery handles sales during the duration of the exhibition. Artwork will not be insured. All possible care will be taken in the handling of art work.

The work will be installed on the 22 of June from 1-4.

Opening reception is June 25 from 6:30- 9:30. Please bring refreshments to contribute. Artists, their guests and the public are invited to attend free of charge.

Pick up work after the exhibition on July 24 from 1-4.

All works must be of material stable enough to withstand handling and exhibiting, suitably framed and/or prepared for installation. Artworks should be for sale and remain on display throughout the duration of the exhibition.  30 percent of proceeds from this exhibit will be retained  to benefit the arts council.


Wearable Art Exhibit: November 17, 2010 - January 22, 2011

The Hillsborough Arts Council seeks submissions for an exhibition of one-of-a-kind Wearable Art created in any material. Examples include any type of clothing, scarves, handbags, belts, and hats. Jewelry such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings are excluded.

Liability

The HAC will take the utmost care in the handling of all works of art submitted for this exhibition.  At this time the HAC does not carry liability insurance to cover damage to artworks.  Insurance of the artworks will be the responsibility of the artist.

 Rights and Conditions

The HAC reserves the right to photograph and reproduce artwork accepted for exhibition for publicity and educational purposes.  Submission of materials for consideration constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist to the conditions set forth by the submission guidelines and requirement.
