Hillsborough Arts Council

The Hillsborough Arts Council is the official Hillsborough, NC Arts Council endorsed by The Town of Hillsborough and The North Carolina Arts Council. The Council is incorporated in the state of North Carolina as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

For over twenty years, the Hillsborough Arts Council has been serving the arts and cultural needs of the Hillsborough community through a diversity of initiatives and services.

The council is primarily a volunteer organization whose role is to meet the arts and cultural needs of the Hillsborough, NC community. In addition, the council supports the arts and enhances the community through education and by organizing events that feature local artists for the enjoyment and education of the general public.

The Hillsborough Arts Council & Gallery is located in historic downtown Hillsborough at  220 South Churton Street.

Our office and gallery hours are 1pm until 5:00 pm Tuesday thru Friday and 11:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturdays.

New Promotion for Local Artists

The Hillsborough Arts Council would like to promote local artists by having take away cards on display in the Council's office.  Each artist's card will have an image of their artwork or of the artist, business name, artist statement/bio, contact information, and business hours if applicable. In addition we will add you to our online Artist Registry.
Eligible artist need to live or work in or near Hillsborough or in northern Orange County.

    • Quality opera performances tailored to K-5 age groups
